I borrowed this one from a friend, who bought it in the first place because Guillaume Musso was advertised as the French Coelho. She actually got so blown away by him that she bought all his other books available in Hungarian.
BTW, according to his website this one is translated to 23 languages, and English is not one of them. So, I’m sorry for keeping recommending books that many of you can’t read. Maybe I’ll do a post later promoting language learning. 🙂
So, what I was about to say is that for me Musso is not even close to Coelho. I’m not gonna say I didn’t enjoy it, though. It’s an easy to read, hard to put aside type of read, you’re sort of anticipating the sequel until the very last word. It is also an interesting outlook on life and death. I’m not sure I want to believe in such things, but the message is indeed important and really nice.
I see they made a movie of it in 2008, starring John Malkovich, but I am not sure I recognize the story from the plot summary, they even changed most of the names. Anyway, this is a book recommendation, so, if you like this sort of literature, you should definitely read this!
