It’s been a long time. I am writing this first new post on a new(ish) platform and sharing what this blogging hiatus had got to do with European Parliament and Council Regulation 2018/302. The headline is actually more like a clickbait than a showcase of what to expect from this post, because the truth is I have no idea what my having to move all my content and change service provider had to do with a five year old EU law, but I am about to tell this story anyway. Let’s start where we left off, I started studying an…
Happy Sunday, everyone! It’s been a while. A long while. Being away from this platform had nothing to do with my professional life, as I am still very much interested in world affairs, I am still reading a lot on the topic, and I really do want to blog about it again. This week’s collection is some kind of a test as I am planning to bring this blog back to life. Today’s weather in Hungary brought a strong autumn-y feeling, and fall is a good (well, as good as ever) occasion to start new things, so I will try…
In other news, I just got notified that blabbing world affairs turned 5 today! It doesn’t feel right to count the being and growing of this blog from that very first day though, since it began as something very different to what it is now. Perhaps I will have to do a whole post about the birth, growth and transformation of this blog later. But first, let’s celebrate! Here’s to another 5 years! And always thank you for reading! ❤
Today is Blog Action Day everybody! If you are also participating and reading this post, please leave a comment with a link of your participation, I would like to check them all out! The theme of this year’s Blog Action Day is #RaiseYourVoice. On this occasion I decided to share my ways of raising my voice with you all, with the hope of inspiring some of you to raise yours in many various ways too. Writing this blog I should say, obviously. One of the stated purposes of this blog is definitely to raise my voice on this platform on…
It’s been ready for a few weeks now, I just didn’t quite have the time to change it yet. I am planning a few more changes on the page, and most of all, I am planning to post more regularly. I also have a few interesting topic ideas and some new ways to engage more of you guys in the conversation. Look out for more new things in a few weeks time! For now, thanks for NickyGraphics for the great job they have done, it was a pleasure working together! And also thanks for everyone who helped me pick the…
Welcome to the 100th Sunday Smack everybody!!! I can’t believe that I am doing this weekly round-up for 100 weeks (= almost two years!) already! The blog itself will turn 4 this summer too!! On this occasion besides thanking you all for reading and sticking with me all through these years I thought it would be best to share my thoughts about this blog with you all. Quite some time ago I decided to do this just to follow the topics I am most interested in. I sure want to continue doing it, and want to do it with more…
Can you believe it’s already November? Well, it’s been a while since the last time when there was no post between two Sunday Smacks. That happened this week. I recently read a blog post where the author wrote she thought it was quite annoying when bloggers complain about neglecting blogging, while she actually was complaining about just that. I will not do that. I was a little busy this week, that’s all. What have you all been reading about this week? Hope you’ll check out these posts too. Mass Graves, Missing Students, and Mexico’s Long Road to Reform This is something…
Happy Sunday everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! As you might noticed, I was a little stuck with the blog last week. To be honest, I do want to make some changes for some time now. The problem is, I do know what I want to see here, how I want it to be, I am just not quite sure how to get there. Please bare with me while I figure it out, I promise to keep this thing up with good content all the while. One thing never changes though, and that’s my enthusiasm towards world…
