Dr. Martin Luther King was a visionary civil rights leader and recipient of the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize.

In this photo from 1964, Dr. King and his wife, Coretta Scott King, are greeted by Ralph J. Bunche, United Nations Under-Secretary for Special Political Affairs (and himself a Nobel Peace Prize winner), at UN Headquarters in New York.

Dr. King’s legacy continues in many ways, including in the Sustainable Development Goals, where reduced inequalities and peace and justice are key to our vision for a better world.
