Earth Day has a special meaning in the year which is crucial for the fight against climate change. This year the United Nations will decide on the Sustainable Development Goals and we will see whether member states are willing and able to take necessary action to preserve our Earth for the next generations. On a lighter note, have you played Google’s Earth Day Quiz? Turns out I’m a woolly mammoth! (”So unique, you’re technically extinct. But on the bright side, scientists hope to be able to clone you some day!” – uhm, good for them…)

Earth Day 2014 will focus on green cities, mobilizing millions of people to create a sustainable, healthy environment by greening communities worldwide. It’s time for us to invest in efficiency and renewable energy, rebuild our cities and towns, and begin to solve the climate crisis.

September 16 is the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer! united-nations: On this day 25 years ago, the world proved it could act together for the environment.
