I finally got around to watch last Monday’s discussion of the Kofi Annan Dialogues. This time the topic was Young People’s Priorities for the Post 2015 Global Development Agenda. Mr. Annan once again emphasized his belief in young people’s role in forming our future and working towards the fulfilment of all the important development goals. The topic of yesterday’s broadcast of The Kofi Annan Dialogues was Democracy and Elections. While discussing these with special emphasis on young people’s participation, Mr. Annan also reflected on recent issues such as Egypt. The former UN Secretary General once again stressed the importance of citizens, especially young people who can be critics of their leaders, as he likes to put it, “where leaders fail to lead, the people can make them follow”. He said he considers young people’s participation so crucial that he wouldn’t oppose “situations where you have to vote on a compulsory basis”. I have to say…

First of all, instead of random book titles once in a while, I decided to do a monthly book recommendation post from now on. November was rather poor for me on that front, with only four full books finished, while I am also making progress with my first ever Spanish language book, and learning a lot. I ordered it like seven weeks ago from Amazon, then I waited and waited and it hasn’t arrived.
