Madeleine Albright: Diplomacy still possible in Ukraine, if Putin wants solution A diplomatic solution to the standoff over Crimea is still possible, former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Tuesday. “There is a solution,” she said. “There could be more autonomy for Crimea". If Putin wants a solution, but the problem is, no-one knows what Putin wants at this point. But I love Madeleine Albright, that’s why I am sharing this! 🙂 And because it’s a great interview.

Happy first weekend of spring and happy Oscars night everybody! So many things to be excited about! Kiev protests: A fight over influence of the West “Death on the streets, riot shields being thumped and Molotov cocktails thrown are the manifestation, but all this started because of the desire of many Ukrainians to join the EU, and Russia’s feeling this was where its diminution in power had to stop. Putin wants a Eurasian Union to counter the EU and has his own inducement in oil and aid. Ukraine’s strong man has enthusiastically backed that path. Georgia and others in the region, inclined to side with the West, will be watching closely.”
