All people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, are born free & equal in dignity and rights. The United Nations is here to make it clear that LGBT rights are human rights.
Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process – C-SPAN Video Library Former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Martti Ahtisaari of Finland and former Algerian Foreign Minister Lakhdar Brahimi talked about the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. They discussed the topic earlier in the day with Secretary of State Kerry. Former President Carter acknowledged that conditions are far more difficult now than during his presidency. The topic of yesterday’s broadcast of The Kofi Annan Dialogues was Democracy and Elections. While discussing these with special emphasis on young people’s participation, Mr. Annan also reflected on recent issues such as Egypt. The former UN Secretary General once again stressed the importance of citizens, especially young people who can be critics of their leaders, as he likes to put it, “where leaders fail to lead, the people can make them follow”.
