Happy Sunday! This is one of the few occasions when I don’t even know what to add to all that’s going on. I am quite a bit overwhelmed these days not just with what’s going on in the world, but in my personal life mostly. So, I will just provide you with some weekend reading. A Major Global Report About Nutrition Around World Shows That We Are All Eating the Wrong Things Indeed, we are. And we need to find out what to do about it, especially on parts of the world where it is not about personal choices and…

Happy Sunday, everybody! I hope your week was better, than mine! I had this quite serious cold sticking through most of it making it quite hard for me to function normally. Which I still needed to do. This weekend I am attending a two day learning training which I am excited about, even though I am still not well enough, and despite this means I will not have any weekend or time to rest at all. Oh well, maybe next week… What I am really sad about, though, is the end of summer, which I feel has just passed me…

Happy Sunday! This week was incredibly heat-wave-y in most of Europe that may or may not be a result of climate change. I am fully aware that I wrote the same about extreme cold a few months before, these are just the times we’re living. I admit I like this weather, but many countries in Europe are just not used to this kind of heat, not to talk about the  health implications of extreme temperatures. I hope you are all safe. Let’s do a little Sunday reading. Is ISIS conceding defeat? And even if it would be, would this be…

Happy Sunday, everybody! I can’t believe two months of this year has already gone by. Especially since I don’t remember doing anything else but studying for the past several weeks. One more week of studies before I am done with the first round of the bar exam. That is, if I pass. But let’s not talk negative just yet. I pinned the above photo several years ago and captured it like: “this actually made me miss law school”. I know, I am crazy, right?! And the photo pretty much sums up my life right now, so I can’t complain. Be careful…

Happy Sunday! I hope this finds you well. One twelfth of this year is already gone, I hope you have spent it great! I spent it studying most of the time and there is one more month ahead doing just that. Then perhaps a little rest. And then more studies. But also some exciting working projects to come in between. How about you all? The disturbing political actions of last weekend have not ceased to be disturbing over the course of the week. Here’s this week’s roundup. UN Says 20,000 Refugees Could Be Immediately Affected By US Ban And many…

Happy Sunday, everybody! I really can’t believe it is almost December already, and it’s less than four weeks to go until Christmas. Another year has gone by so quickly. Due to Thanksgiving, we weren’t overwhelmed with earthshaking news this week, except for the death of a certain dictator, perhaps. Meanwhile I suffered a moderate cold and a major exhaustion this week, so after finishing off a project on Wednesday, I took two days off to do nothing, but things I enjoy (which more or less I did). For one thing, I am done watching ¾ of the Gilmore Girls revival,…

Happy Sunday, people! I have had a crazy week at work, and an even crazier (but pleasant!) weekend spent with friends, hence this late Sunday Smack. I hope you all had a great weekend too! Meanwhile, there were a lot of great readings in the blogosphere this week, it was hard to pick a few. Check out my selection. Happy Sunday, people, I hope everybody is having a great weekend! It is unbelievably gloomy here in Hungary these days, I am so in need of a dose of sunshine now. Perhaps a doze of my favorite TV shows will do until then. This is going to happen tonight, and I can’t wait. I mean I literally have zero time to watch these things anymore, but this one is a must. Even without my idol, Madeleine Albright in it, but with her, even more so! Anyway, Part II. of my UNGA general debate recap is halfway done, I plan to…

shortformblog: Anja Niedringhaus faced down some of the world’s greatest dangers and had one of the world’s loudest laughs. She photographed dying and death, and embraced humanity and life. She gave herself to the subjects of her lens, and gave her talents to the world, with images of wars’ unwitting victims in Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia and beyond. Shot to death by an Afghan policeman Friday, Niedringhaus leaves behind a body of work that won awards and broke hearts. She trained her camera on children caught between the front lines, yet who still find a place to play. She singled out…
