Happy Sunday, all! I am still not done with the UNGA coverage, there is one more post in the making, to review the major happenings of this past week. The UN Social Media team did a tremendous job throughout the week, be sure check out their space. Envío buenos pensamientos a mis seguidores en México y Puerto Rico. And to everybody else, once again, if you can, please consider donating to help those affected – here you can find a couple of ways to do that. Let’s get to this week’s stories now. Happy Sunday, everybody! I can’t believe two months of this year has already gone by. Especially since I don’t remember doing anything else but studying for the past several weeks. One more week of studies before I am done with the first round of the bar exam. That is, if I pass. But let’s not talk negative just yet. I pinned the above photo several years ago and captured it like: “this actually made me miss law school”. I know, I am crazy, right?! And the photo pretty much sums up my life right now, so I can’t complain. Be careful…

Happy Sunday! I hope March i.e. the first month of Spring started well for you all. How about House of Cards Season 4? I cant wait to start it already. But first, it’s time to do some weekend reading… United Nations Security Council Resolution 2270 Indeed this is the most unique and harshest sanctions regime yet, but – at least for now – it doesn’t seem to stop the DPRK from pursuing a nuclear bomb. In my opinion, the man is insane and no SC resolution can cure that. Election fallout: What Iran’s Vote Means for Hope and Change (and…

The Interview

I have watched The Interview yesterday and I am now totally sorry for that almost two hours of my life. I do admit I have had one or two laughs along, but that is all, most of the time, I was just waiting for it to be over. Since I know people who actually enjoyed it, I will just add that it is absolutely the kind of move that I never watch. Never. Ever. I don’t enjoy obscenity, neither in graphic nor in oral form in movies at all. Again, tastes are different, if you enjoy these kinds of things,…

Happy New Year Everybody! Welcome to the first Sunday Smack of 2015, and the 90th altogether! There is a celebration due in ten weeks! 🙂 If I said last week was down time in blogosphere, this one was even “downer”. And I can’t say I am longing to go back to working weekdays either. I guess I’ll feel different about it once I’m back in the saddle already. I have some important career goals for 2015 too! I am thinking of ways to share them here with you all and create a career feature on this page. How would you…

Happy Sunday, people! How is everybody doing? After a four day long weekend in Hungary I feel like I am in the process of really recovering. I know, I said that quite a few times in the past 6+ weeks, but this time it must be for real. I have so many plans for when I will be well enough to do things! I want to be able to do things and go to places again so bad! Well, at least I was still able to read, I hope you’ll check out these posts from last week. Why Banning Travel…

Kim Jong Un Wins 100% Of Vote In North Korean Elections “Kim Jong Un has been unanimously re-elected to North Korea’s parliament – via a ballot that featured his name only. (…) 100 per cent turnout was recorded, without a single dissenting ballot.” Why, that’s a surprise…

Happy first day of December and first day of Advent everybody! It doesn’t really feel very Christmassy or even pre-Christmassy for me yet, as it is a bright sunshiny day in Hungary. Some snow would help me get in the mood. A white, snowy Advent and Christmas would surely be nice, but right after the holidays, can it be hot summer again, please? Besides all the other excitements that December holds, I am starting at a new job tomorrow that I am really looking forward to. I wish every one of my readers such an eventful and joyous December that…

🙂 huffingtonpost: North Korean state television has announced that leader Kim Jong Un is married, the Associated Press reports. According to Voice of America’s Steve Herman, North Korea’s new first lady is named Ri Sol Ju. Intrigue built over several weeks as to the identity of a mystery woman who appeared next to the North Korean leader on a state television broadcast earlier this month. Rumors suggested she was either Kim’s sister or his wife. South Korean intelligence speculated the mystery woman was in fact singer Hyon Song Wol, with whom Kim allegedly had a previous relationship, only to have…
