Happy first day of June, dear readers! 🙂 When you are reading this, I am having a great time in London. I hope you are also having a wonderful weekend, wherever you are in the world. 🙂 Since this post was pre-scheduled on Thursday before I left, I only had time to read half of the usual stuff. Hope everybody had a great weekend! After an incredibly grey and stormy week in Hungary with a taste of Yvette, summer is expected to arrive next week. And I can’t wait. Happy Sunday, everybody! After the last long weekend, this one was a one day weekend in Hungary, and I can’t believe tomorrow’s Monday already, I would have needed so much more sleep. Kiev protests: A fight over influence of the West “Death on the streets, riot shields being thumped and Molotov cocktails thrown are the manifestation, but all this started because of the desire of many Ukrainians to join the EU, and Russia’s feeling this was where its diminution in power had to stop. Putin wants a Eurasian Union to counter the EU and has his own inducement in oil and aid. Ukraine’s strong man has enthusiastically backed that path. Georgia and others in the region, inclined to side with the West, will be watching closely.”
