This year’s slogan is ‘Human Rights 365’, meaning human rights shouldn’t just be cherished and talked about on December 10 every year, but every single day of every single year. Read Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s message for Human Rights Day 2014 here. Visit the UN’s official website here. Let’s celebrate human rights today and every day!

I am planning a series of posts here about Hungarian and European law and politics for the world to understand what is going on this side of the pond. Not that I or most Hungarians always get these things ourselves. The Hungarian prime minister is of course not a “neo-fascist dictator”. But then the last couple of years’…

united-nations: Wednesday is World Toilet Day. While for many, having a clean, private bathroom is a basic convenience, for others it is an unimaginable luxury. 2.5 billion people in the world today do not have access to adequate sanitation and 1 billion people still defecate in the open. In many places, women and girls are at risk of rape and abuse because they have no toilet that offers privacy. For them, going to the toilet can mean danger and fear. Help spread the word and take action. Find out how you can help here:http://j.mp/11lpNqT #WorldToiletDay #WeCantWait
