Happy Sunday Everybody and Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers (especially on this side of the pond, where we celebrate Mother’s Day today)! There weren’t too many world affairs related posts this week to choose from, these are the ones I found interesting. The Jus ad Bellum and the Airstrikes in…

It was a natural choice for UNESCO’s General Conference, held in Paris in 1995, to pay a world-wide tribute to books and authors on this date, encouraging everyone, and in particular young people, to discover the pleasure of reading and gain a renewed respect for the…
This Earth Day, I ask Americans and concerned citizens everywhere to crank up the volume. Let’s act on climate. Secretary Kerry on Earth Day, April 22, 2015 (via statedept)
Earth Day has a special meaning in the year which is crucial for the fight against climate change. This year the United Nations will decide on the Sustainable Development Goals and we will see whether member states are willing and able to take necessary action to preserve our Earth for the next generations. On a lighter note, have you played Google’s Earth Day Quiz? Turns out I’m a woolly mammoth! (”So unique, you’re technically extinct. But on the bright side, scientists hope to be able to clone you some day!” – uhm, good for them…)
