Happy Sunday! This year is getting weirder and weirder, I guess and one can only hope we will come out of it into an improved and healed world in every way. In Hungary official communication suggests we are over the pandemic (COVID-19, there is no communication about the other one, i.e. racism), theaters are opening, beaches are crowded, people are out and about like nothing happened, while there are still several new cases every day. I can’t really decide whether I am overly precautious for not wanting to mingle with people for a while or they are irresponsible for doing…
Happy Sunday everybody! I am coming at you from what feels like a whole week of rain, and I kind of drained by it by now, I really want my summer already! Things don’t look brighter in the world either, feels like I haven’t heard any good news in ages. Do you have anything? Please share with me, I need it! I didn’t post last week’s collection, so this is going to be a bit longer, than usual, I hope you don’t mind. Happy reading! Happy Sunday and happy weekend! After a first week of getting back to work and the outside world in Hungary I can say that some people wrongly assume that life is fully back to normal again, and we can act like nothing irregular happened in the meantime. It is hard to proceed with caution and practice social distancing when other people just don’t seem to care at all. It’s obviously not true for everybody, but too many people in my opinion. What are your experiences with easing up restrictions? Let me know in the comments. Here’s today’s offering. Pandemic Intrigue…
Happy Sunday! I’ve been waiting to post about anything but the current situation, but somehow everything I read leads back to it, so now I am just going with the flow. It’s back to the office day in Hungary (for most of us anyway) tomorrow, that could really make me believe we’re out of the woods already, if I haven’t been following international news as well. To be honest, I could be believing a lot of things these days that are not true if I didn’t pay attention (so could you). But perhaps we will talk about this some other…
Happy International Women’s Day everybody! We are closer to gender equality than ever before, but we have a lot of work ahead of us. We are #GenerationEquality and we will not give up on an equal future.#IWD2020 #InternationalWomensDay pic.twitter.com/9GGdME2oma — UN Women (@UN_Women) March 8, 2020 Check out the details of the IWD2020 campaign on UN Women’s site. And here’s some additional reading for you. We Should Be Thanking Our Lucky Stars for the World Health Organization Right Now We do have an international organization that can deal with public health emergencies such as we’re facing these days, when it…
Happy Sunday and happy March! Spring is on the way! On the off-chance you haven’t seen this already, even though it seemed to be everywhere this week (rightly so), you should watch it now. Also, I just wanted it to be on my blog, because it’s that good. Here it is, for this week leading up to International Women’s Day next weekend. The Outbreak of COVID-19 Coronavirus: are the International Health Regulations fit for purpose? This is a long read with dry legal knowledge, no panic inciting, we have enough of that elsewhere. The UN is Warning of a Massive…
Happy Sunday! I hope you are well and safe this weekend! Here’s some reading for you. Am I the only one to think that most of this list should be applied all the time, regardless of world health emergencies? 🤔 The source is of course the World Health Organization, be sure to check out their website clicking here for many more useful information (and some myth-busting) about the coronavirus. Happy Sunday! We are past the gloomiest day of the year (last Monday, according to general understanding, but no science at all), so we can expect things to be brighter from here on. I mean once Christmas passes, I am so over winter weather anyway, I can’t wait for it to be summer already… How about you? Here’s some weekend reading that unfortunately will not cheer you up, but I hope you’ll enjoy them nontheless. How Multilateral Cooperation Can Stop the Coronavirus Outbreak From Spreading This is yet another example when internationalism and international organizations are indeed helping humankind. One…
