Happy Spring, Everybody! This week was yet another sad reminder of the times we live in now. I am leaving for London just this coming week for a short trip (more on this later), and what happened on Westminster Bridge made me think about a lot of things. It is easy to say that we are not going to be frightened (we are not!), but harder not to think I could have been there on the bridge at that very moment. Or not to think whether it is just statistics, like there are so many people in a city like…

Farewell, 2016!

Considering everything, no-one will miss you…  Especially these last days of the year really made people long for those days when you could just turn off the tv and hide away from all the bad news at least for a few days. While we all wish the next year to be the best ever, the undeniable truth is that we are facing it amid seemingly unstoppable wars, the rise of unacceptable political views and at the treshold of four years of who knows what. Still, I want this one to be a happy post. Aside from a sad personal loss…

Happy Sunday and greetings from rainy London! At least they predict it to be rainy during this weekend, but at the time I am writing this (scheduled post alert) I am still hoping they are wrong! Anyway, we are going to attend, uhm… we have attended The Queen’s Birthday Parade on Saturday, and then spend a pleasant weekend strolling around in my favorite city ever. Come rain or come shine. So here’s what I’ve been reading while preparing for the trip… To Really Improve the Lives of Syrian Refugees, Turkey and the World Must Cooperate Better Turkey will unchangeably  remain…

Happy Sunday everybody! How about last night’s ESC results? I did not like either of these songs in particular, but the announcement of the results was something.  When it came down to Russia versus Ukraine, Ukraine must have taken the win, even though I am pretty sure the results were manipulated, in Russia for sure. There was also a collective sigh of relief heard over the winner remaining in Europe after all, although nobody really understood how Australia got in the picture in the first place. Then again, the Eurovision Song Contest is still very much like geopolitics, only the…

Happy Sunday! I have spent some wonderful days in the UK and had a fantastic time at the U2 concert at TheO2, London on Tuesday. You can check out some of my photos and videos on my Instagram. Then of course, it was back to work for the second half of the week. Well, how about this? And how about other world leaders following the example? Because it’s 2015. And for some more inspiration on gender equality you should watch Emma Watson’s interview with Malala at Into Film Festival, if you haven’t yet. Let’s see what else happened this week……

Happy Sunday Everybody! As you are reading this, I am in the UK somewhere having a good time and looking forward to the U2 concert on 3 November, which almost did not happen. (Phew, long story, perhaps many will contradict, but let me just warn you not to order tickets via viagogo.com! Well, not unless you can have them in your mailbox right away. What happened is that they kindly informed me three days prior to the concert, that the tickets I payed for five months in advance don’t exist!!! They blame it on the seller, but I suspect they…

Happy Sunday Everybody! Forgive me if this s just a short, quick and light post, but for the first time in a long time I am putting together this Sunday post in its entirety on Sunday, as I was away for most of the week. I just got back from London, where I have spent the most wonderful birthday weekend. For a couple of pictures check out my Instagram. Let’s get down to what I seem to have missed all week. The State of the Union on Counterterrorism: Does the Rethoric Match the Policies? On Wednesday I was actually still…

I hope everybody is having a beautiful first Sunday of Advent! Time to take out the Christmas decoration and start getting in the mood with various festivities of the holiday season! Thank you all for following! I hope you will enjoy this week’s posts. Hey there, everybody! I am back after a very eventful week and a half spent with friends, lots of laughter, London of course, and a few days of work even. Fortunately this one is a long weekend, so I can at least attempt to get some much needed sleep. It has also been a very eventful week world affairs-wise, I couldn’t even keep up with things here. I will try to reflect back on everything I have missed though, in the coming days. Now, I hope you’ll check out what I have read this past week. Starvation in Syria: Is…
