Hello everybody, happy Sunday! I didn’t quite finish this post for the weekend, but then I  wanted to post it, because the articles I collected throughout the week are exceptionally good! I hope you’ll enjoy them too… Cautionary tales for the Mueller Probe from the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia  That’s an unlikely comparison, I mean it would have never occurred to me to think about these two cases in parallel, but if you consider the reasoning, it makes a lot of sense. Here’s Why the Security Council Should Not Refer Burmese Authorities to the International Criminal Court …

The Museum of Communism in Prague

Recently I went on a trip to Prague, which was supposed to be a spring getaway for a long weekend, but turned out to be a winter one with lots of snow and cold. We’ve spent as much time outside walking around this beautiful city as we could, but the cold forced us to seek for some indoors activities as well. One of these were visiting the Museum of Communism.  Having grown up in Hungary I do have quite a vision of communism in Eastern Europe, so I didn’t really expect any great surprises there. The exhibition starts with the…

Happy Christmas! I was thinking about skipping this week’s Sunday Smack altogether, because I though no-one would read it on Christmas Eve. But then I saw the flood of issues and posts from the course of this week, which made me decide I can’t take the week off. So, here’s a couple of not at all christmassy reads for you today. Happy Sunday, Everybody! I have had the best time in London earlier this week. Although sunny London is still my favorite London, snowy London was a spectacular sight to see! And I’ll be back in just four months! Until then, there is a holiday season to get through. Every year I pledge not to become so overwhelmed and overloaded by this time, and every year I fail. It is a busy time at work and with everything else to get done, by the time it’s actually Christmas I just wish to get it over with and be able to sleep….

Happy Sunday! By the time you are reading this, I will be in London ahead of the Mariah Carey Christmas concert Monday night (at the time of writing I even have a spare ticket to sell, message me if you are interested). As much as I love London, I’ve never visited during Christmas time, so I am pretty excited. There will be photos on my Instagram, check it out if you love London or Christmas or Mariah or all of them. Now, let’s see what happened in the world this week. Happy Sunday! This was a very busy week both in terms of world affairs and in my life. I am yet to find the holiday spirit, maybe next week, when Santa Claus officially comes to Hungary and I am going to see The Nutcracker too. Nothing says Christmas more like The Nutcracker, right? Anyway, I hope you are having a great weekend, and have some time to read. Happy Sunday! I have been informed last night (!) that today was going to be the first Sunday of Advent. With everything going on during the end of the year, it was quite a surprise, but I try to cope. I hope those of you celebrating had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, but I say all the rest of us could use a little gratitude in our lives. I hope you have some time to read today. Happy Sunday! This is one of the few occasions when I don’t even know what to add to all that’s going on. I am quite a bit overwhelmed these days not just with what’s going on in the world, but in my personal life mostly. So, I will just provide you with some weekend reading. Happy Sunday! October ended just as sad as it started. I just realized that the Las Vegas shooting and the latest attack in New York happened on the first and the last days of last month. I wish there would be no more. Aside from the tragic events, I hope you had a great Halloween week. I cannot believe it’s almost Christmas time, I am hardly over summer’s ending, I am definitely not ready for the holidays yet! Here’s some reading for you now.
