Five things I love to bring to 2018

I wrote earlier that I didn’t really feel like doing a review of last year, since there are not many things to look back at. 2017 was decidedly not my year. Looking back what I feel is as if I have completely skipped the whole year. All I can think about is work, I even had 10+ paid leave days remaining (i.e. going to waste), because there was always some reason not to take a day off. Happy New Year’s Eve, everybody! This is the yearly round-up edition of Sunday Smack, with a couple of reviews of the year. I was also thinking aobut doing a more personal round-up as I did last year, but looking back this year doesn’t give me much pleasure, so I am still not sure if it is going to happen. Anyway, here’s a bit of reading before the party gets going. Key events around the world in 2017 The title says it all, some of the news stories that shaped our passing year. Ten World Figures Who Died in 2017 I…

Happy Christmas! I was thinking about skipping this week’s Sunday Smack altogether, because I though no-one would read it on Christmas Eve. But then I saw the flood of issues and posts from the course of this week, which made me decide I can’t take the week off. So, here’s a couple of not at all christmassy reads for you today. UN Vote on Jerusalem Tests the Power of Trump’s Threats and Ultimatums Hopefully he will think twice before such a dumb move. Happy Sunday, Everybody! I have had the best time in London earlier this week. Although sunny London is still my favorite London, snowy London was a spectacular sight to see! And I’ll be back in just four months! Until then, there is a holiday season to get through. Every year I pledge not to become so overwhelmed and overloaded by this time, and every year I fail. It is a busy time at work and with everything else to get done, by the time it’s actually Christmas I just wish to get it over with and be able to sleep….

There will be photos on my Instagram, check it out if you love London or Christmas or Mariah or all of them. Now, let’s see what happened in the world this week. Happy Sunday! This was a very busy week both in terms of world affairs and in my life. I am yet to find the holiday spirit, maybe next week, when Santa Claus officially comes to Hungary and I am going to see The Nutcracker too. Nothing says Christmas more like The Nutcracker, right? Anyway, I hope you are having a great weekend, and have some time to read. Happy Sunday! I have been informed last night (!) that today was going to be the first Sunday of Advent. With everything going on during the end of the year, it was quite a surprise, but I try to cope. I hope those of you celebrating had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, but I say all the rest of us could use a little gratitude in our lives. I hope you have some time to read today.
