Happy Sunday everybody! Just when you think this year couldn’t get any weirder, there comes the next thing. It’s hard to imagine where can we go from here… In addition to this week’s selection I hope you’ll check out my post on ms-jd.org, I wrote about some important stuff there. Happy reading! The July 1st march: Another endangered democratic landmark for Hong Kong This issue is getting way less coverage in world news than the graveness of it would deserve. You can support the campaign to support democracy and freedom in Hong Kong at https://www.now.world/freedom. The COVID-19 tracking apps ecosystem unraveled:…

Happy Sunday and happy June!  I can’t believe it’s almost June already, it feels like we’ve skipped several weeks of this year, I don’t even know where they went. Like this pandemic wasn’t enough already, further grave things are happening in the world. Aren’t we supposed to move forward and not backwards with this kind of stuff? Everybody, who thinks this is not their problem, please educate yourselves (I loved this post for resources) and find ways to do good in the world. It needs us.  Let’s get to reading. Why the WHO is failing and how to fix it…

Happy Sunday! I’ve been waiting to post about anything but the current situation, but somehow everything I read leads back to it, so now I am just going with the flow. It’s back to the office day in Hungary (for most of us anyway) tomorrow, that could really make me believe we’re out of the woods already, if I haven’t been following international news as well. To be honest, I could be believing a lot of things these days that are not true if I didn’t pay attention (so could you). But perhaps we will talk about this some other…

Happy Sunday! I hope you are well and safe this weekend! Here’s some reading for you. Am I the only one to think that most of this list should be applied all the time, regardless of world health emergencies? 🤔 The source is of course the World Health Organization, be sure to check out their website clicking here for many more useful information (and some myth-busting) about the coronavirus. Happy Sunday! The New Year started with this great initiative and I was so glad to see most of the “celebrities” I am following standing behind this cause. There is a reason why I love all these people, I thought.  Also, it is Golden Globes Sunday, and I can’t wait to see them all wearing black tonight. Award season is one of the very few perks of these gloomy, grey after-holidays times, and I am excited for many of my favorites. To only name my biggest favorite, good luck to Mariah Carey and Marc Shaiman tonight! I hope you all had…

Happy Sunday! This is one of the few occasions when I don’t even know what to add to all that’s going on. I am quite a bit overwhelmed these days not just with what’s going on in the world, but in my personal life mostly. So, I will just provide you with some weekend reading. A Major Global Report About Nutrition Around World Shows That We Are All Eating the Wrong Things Indeed, we are. And we need to find out what to do about it, especially on parts of the world where it is not about personal choices and…

Happy Sunday! FINA World Championships are coming to a close today in Budapest, and I was able to witness some great moments there. Check out my Instagram for pics of the swimming competitions and waterpolo matches I attended. The cost of building and organizing the whole thing might have been high, I doubt it compares to what Hungary gained on it, but all I can say is nothing compares to the vibe of cheering your team on a world event, just ten minutes walk from your home (the serious sunburn nice tan I developed during a midday openair waterpolo match is…

Hope everybody is well after this week of incredible news. The image I used is from the Daily Mirror frontpage from the day after. You can read its story clicking here. This was one of the best front pages in my opinion, but you can check out a bunch of others clicking here  if you want to. And then there were the publications too. From the immediate expressions of shock through some more resigned expressions of shock to the well thought out analyses. The latter trying to find the reasons will give plenty of job for analysts in the years…

Happy Sunday, everybody! Today, there is a referendum held in Hungary, where Hungarians are asked to answer with yes or no to the following question. “Do you want the European Union to be able to mandate the obligatory resettlement of non-Hungarian citizens into Hungary without the approval of Parliament?” Well, first of all, the EU can do that now, whether citizens of member states want it or not, simply based on the EU Treaty. So a “No” answer doesn’t make any sense. A “Yes” answer doesn’t make sense either, no-one really “wants” this, not even the EU, although the quotas are off the table…

Happy Sunday! After a week of accomplishments and some entertainment during the weekend, I am having a giant headache today that barely lets me function at all.
