Happy Holidays, everybody! How is it that I become too exhausted to enjoy the preparations every single year by this time?  Tons of work, studies, Christmas shopping, multiple Christmas fair + mulled wine sessions with friends, hosting family, cooking my annual Christmas cookies for colleagues, this is just how my last couple of days looked like, and again, lots of work to come for the next three days as well… Oh and did I mention the anxiety over some unarrived (I know, I just made this word up) Christmas presents? I am so much in need of some sleep time…

Happy Sunday, all! The end of the year is quickly approaching, I honestly have no idea where did all those days and weeks go… I had a crazy week again, I fell behind with all the reading (note: this is a very last minute post!) and studies, and what is worse, I am literally nowhere with the Christmas preparations. I’ll have lots of catching up to do this coming week in more than one areas. BUT, we have a Climate Agreement, people!! This is surely the news of the week, see details below. Now, let’s all hope it can really…

Happy Sunday Everybody! This week I have won access to all of Levo’s Ultimate Career Toolkit guides! I can’t wait to try and utilize them in my career planning which is going pretty hard these days. Anyways, expect a detailed review here at some point about the guides that seem really well prepared and useful. I know it’s not the point, but A and E come together for me, actually… 🙂 Are you on Levo? Let’s connect there, I am easy to find, just type in my name in the search bar, top right corner. And if you’re not on…

Happy first Sunday of Advent! How can it be Advent already, when I feel like I have just returned from summer vacation, is beyond me. But it is. There is only one month left for our 2015 goals, and time to think about new ones for the new year! The year in world affairs is far from being over yet, though. One of the most important diplomatic events of 2015 kicks off tomorrow in Paris. UN member states will gather in Paris in the next two weeks for the UN conference on climate change. Long negotiations are to be expected,…

I hope everyone’s having a peaceful weekend wherever you may be. We have an incredibly depressing weather this weekend in Budapest, the kind that just makes you want to stay in bed and binge watch your favorite shows all day. Too bad I don’t have time for that… How are you all doing? And how about some Sunday reading now? The Constructive Ambiguity of the Security Council’s ISIS Resolution A closer look at the Security Council resolution legitimizing the use of force against ISIL. Can the UN Help Broker a Syria Ceasefire? Well, if anyone can, it is the UN….

Hey everybody, I hope you are all safe this weekend… A lot of things happened this week in terms of world affairs, from the Myanmar elections through the EU’s migration summit in Malta to the Syria peace talks in Vienna, but one sad event tops all of them. Let me just say I was worried from the very first moment that this will add fuel to the extreme opinions regarding the refugee issue, and indeed it did. In my country this is most certainly the case, and I think all over Europe they think they now have a seemingly legit…

Happy weekend everybody, and happy labor day weekend to all my US readers, who – according to Google Analytics – make up the third largest crowd among my overall readership. BTW, I am still in the process of figuring out why the first place goes to Russia, but then, shoutout to my Russian readers too, anyway! I have never thought I would ever be writing these words, but seriously, I wish my country wouldn’t be on international news that much! Even the daily news roll of my favorite global affairs blog came out one day with the title “Seriously, Hungary?”. And…

Happy last summer weekend, everybody! I just got back from the beach, as there is a heatwave affecting Hungary again, but I hope you are all enjoying every bit of these last summer moments! As always this time of the year, I am half sad – as summer is my favorite season and I love the hot weather, half excited – as things are revving up  after the long weeks of fun and rest and vacation. September is the most exciting time of year, I was actually surprised to find this to be true even when it’s not about school…

Happy August, people! Can you believe it’s August already? That means we have only five months left to act on all our goals for 2015! I don’t know about you guys, but that means a lot of work for me to do!  Anyway, I hope the past two-third of this summer was spent well for you all, and you are as excited about its remains as I am! Let’s check out some of this week’s reads… Unpacking Obama’s Message to the African Union The first ever address that a sitting US president made at an African Union meeting held quite…

Syria is the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. At least a quarter-million Syrians have been killed. Almost half the country’s people – 12 million men, women and children – have been forced to flee their homes. In a massive cross-border exodus, Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq are hosting an ever growing number of refugees, and increasing numbers of Syrians making desperate flights across the Mediterranean in so-called ‘death boats.’ UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon addressing the Security Council meeting on the situation in Syria /29.07.2015./
