Happy long weekend to everybody who have May 1 as Labour Day off, and happy regular weekend to everyone else! I am spending all three days of this weekend activating my right brain. Follow my Instagram for more on this! Meanwhile, things got wild in world affairs this week, so let’s read about it! (The photo is of course from the UN Security Council’s White House lunch with the President, courtesy of Getty Images.) Happy Sunday, Everybody! I hope your spring is going well so far! I was on a short holiday for the second half of the week, so I missed Saint Patrick’s Day as well. Hope you all had a good one! I always wear green for work that day, but no-one ever notices (LOL), so this time I celebrated quietly at home. This week the victory of the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy in the Netherlands is another hopeful sign that democrats are still in majority, and now alarmed by last year’s events, they don’t take risks by letting others…

Happy Sunday, everybody! I can’t believe two months of this year has already gone by. Especially since I don’t remember doing anything else but studying for the past several weeks. One more week of studies before I am done with the first round of the bar exam. That is, if I pass. But let’s not talk negative just yet. I pinned the above photo several years ago and captured it like: “this actually made me miss law school”. I know, I am crazy, right?! And the photo pretty much sums up my life right now, so I can’t complain. Be careful…

Happy Sunday! I hope March i.e. the first month of Spring started well for you all. How about House of Cards Season 4? I cant wait to start it already. But first, it’s time to do some weekend reading… United Nations Security Council Resolution 2270 Indeed this is the most unique and harshest sanctions regime yet, but – at least for now – it doesn’t seem to stop the DPRK from pursuing a nuclear bomb. In my opinion, the man is insane and no SC resolution can cure that. Election fallout: What Iran’s Vote Means for Hope and Change (and…

Happy Sunday Everybody! Happy Chinese New Year, happy Valentines Day, happy long weekend in the US, and happy whatever you are celebrating around this time. I hope you have some time for today’s posts. Thoughts on the North Korean Nuclear Test and Satellite Launch This post elaborates in detail on my own opinion that what happens in the Korean Peninsula time and again seems to be on repeat. The beginning of the end of border-free Schengen? This is an ever more probable threat as time goes by since the beginning of the migration crisis in Europe. Today is the Day…

Hey everybody! How was you first workweek of 2016? I hope it was better than mine. This is now officially the longest time with no posts at all on the blog, except for all the Sunday Smacks. Which obviously is a must, missing a week would feel like breaking a circle or something – this is now the 143th Sunday Smack and this is really saying something. Even though I had lots of plans for 2016 (with the blog and a lot else), I am just not there right now. Actually, if there ever was a time when I would…

Happy last summer weekend, everybody! I just got back from the beach, as there is a heatwave affecting Hungary again, but I hope you are all enjoying every bit of these last summer moments! As always this time of the year, I am half sad – as summer is my favorite season and I love the hot weather, half excited – as things are revving up  after the long weeks of fun and rest and vacation. September is the most exciting time of year, I was actually surprised to find this to be true even when it’s not about school…

I hope your weekends are going well. Mine is going too fast, as usual. Here’s some reading for you all… Protecting Europe or Irregular Migrants? The Interview

I have watched The Interview yesterday and I am now totally sorry for that almost two hours of my life. I do admit I have had one or two laughs along, but that is all, most of the time, I was just waiting for it to be over. Since I know people who actually enjoyed it, I will just add that it is absolutely the kind of move that I never watch. Never. Ever. I don’t enjoy obscenity, neither in graphic nor in oral form in movies at all. Again, tastes are different, if you enjoy these kinds of things,…

Happy New Year Everybody! Welcome to the first Sunday Smack of 2015, and the 90th altogether! There is a celebration due in ten weeks! 🙂 If I said last week was down time in blogosphere, this one was even “downer”. And I can’t say I am longing to go back to working weekdays either. I guess I’ll feel different about it once I’m back in the saddle already. I have some important career goals for 2015 too! I am thinking of ways to share them here with you all and create a career feature on this page. How would you…
